Sher-e-Bangla was an 'immortal statesman' of subcontinent: Tarique 

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman today paid glowing tributes to Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Huq, calling him an 'Immortal Politician' of the Indian subcontinent on the 63rd death anniversary of the legendary leader. 

Tarique Rahman in a statement also recalled with deep respect Sher-e-Bangla's lifelong dedication to the struggle for the rights of the people.

"On this solemn occasion, I offer my deepest homage to his eternal and ever-shining memory," Rahman said. He praised Sher-e-Bangla as an extraordinary statesman whose contributions to politics, society, education, and agriculture significantly advanced the nation's progress.

Tarique Rahman said that Sher-e-Bangla's pivotal legislative achievements, such as the formation of the Debt Arbitration Board and enactment of laws like the Tenant Rights Act and Moneylenders Act. 

These initiatives greatly benefitted Bengal's agrarian and working communities.

"Sher-e-Bangla's contributions will forever remain alive in the hearts of the people of this land," he concluded, urging future leaders to draw inspiration from his ideals and vision. 

He also prayed for the eternal peace of his departed soul.
