LAXMIPUR: Miscreants shot dead a Jubo Dal activist at Laxmipur Sadar upazila in the district on Monday evening.

The deceased was identified as Babar Hossain, 32, son of Tofail Ahmed of Sonapur village in the upazila.

Sources said Babar died instantly after the unknown miscreants shot him and left the body near Pathanbari in Makardhwaj area of Parbati Nagar union around 6:30pm.

On information, police rushed to the spot and covered the body. The body was sent to Laxmipur Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

Officer-in-Charge of Laxmipur Sadar Police Station of Iqbal Hossain confirmed the matter.
