A high-level delegation of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) held bilateral meetings with top Chinese officials in Beijing today (June 24) during an official visit at the invitation of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
The delegation first met with Chinese vice foreign minister Sun Weidong, followed by a meeting with Liu Jianchao, Minister of the CPC’s International Department, at 11:00am.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is leading the delegation.
Other members include Standing Committee members Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, and Selima Rahman; Advisory Council members Zahid Uddin Swapon, Ismail Jabihullah, and Professor Sukomal Barua; BNP Media Cell Convener Maudud Hossain Pavel; and ABM Abdus Sattar, private secretary to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
Earlier on Monday, the BNP team also visited the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs for preliminary discussions.
The visit follows BNP’s participation in an international political dialogue in Beijing hosted by the CPC last month.
