NATORE: Six presiding officers, appointed at Baraigram upazila of the district for the fourth phase of the fourth upazila polls, were withdrawn.

The Election Commission (EC) withdrew as ruling Awami League-backed candidate made allegations against them.

On the other hand, opposition BNP-backed candidate Ekramul claimed that the neutral presiding officers were withdrawn to manipulate the elections at the upazila.

District Returning Officer Sayeed Kutub said, following the appeal of a candidate, the six officers were withdrawn and six others were appointed from reserved presiding officers.
