JESSORE: A Union Parishad Chairman and five others were held by police on charge of attacking minorities and vandalizing in Dhalgram area under Bagharpara upazila of the district on Monday night.

The detainees are UP Chairman of Dhalagram Hafizur Rahman, local Azam Fakir, Tipu Sultan, Benjir Ahmed Ruhul, Ashraful Alam and Ilias Hossain.

Officer-in-Charge of Bagharpara Thana Ibrahim Gazi confirmed the matter to banglanews.
