Chief Adviser (CA) Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus held a meeting with representatives of 13 more political parties on Wednesday (July 23) to discuss the country’s evolving political situation.

The meeting began around 3:30pm at the state guest house Jamuna in Dhaka, according to officials familiar with the development.

This is part of a series of discussions being held by the Chief Adviser with various political groups following recent unrest and political uncertainty.

Wednesday’s meeting included leaders from a wide range of parties across the political spectrum. Among them were Syed Hasibuddin Hossain from Rastrar Sankar Andolon (State Reform Movement), Zonayed Saki of Gonosonghoti Andolon, AB Party’s Mojibur Rahman Monju, Shahidullah Kayser of Nagorik Oikya, Nurul Haque Nur of Gono Odhikar Parishad, LDP’s Redwan Ahmed, Dr Ahmad Abdul Kader of Khelafat Majlish, Saiful Haque of the Revolutionary Workers Party, Tania Rob of JSD, Shahadat Hossain Selim from the 12-party alliance, Bazlur Rashid Firoz of Basad, Ruhin Hossain Prince of CPB, and Dr Mizanur Rahman of Gono Forum.

On Tuesday night (July 22), the Chief Adviser also held talks with four other parties — the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Jamaat-e-Islami, National Citizens’ Party (NCP), and Islami Andolon Bangladesh.
