DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir sought bail in two cases filed for killing people by torching bus during anti-government movement before 10th national election.
Fakhrul’s lawyer Joynul Abedin Mezbah filed the petition with Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge Court on Sunday morning.
Confirming the matter to banglanews, he said the date for hearing on the appeal was not fixed yet.
On the other hand, BNP leaders-activists appeared before the court in two other cases for torching vehicle in front of PMO and vandalism in front of BNP office.
The leaders are BNP Standing Committee member Gayeswar Chandra Roy, publicity and publication secretary Zoynul Abdin Farroque, joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Jatio Gonotanrik Party (JAGPA) president Shafiul Alam Prodhan.
The court fixed April 30 for charge framing hearing in the two cases.
