DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is going to be released on bail from Kashimpur jail on Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities from the Kashimpur jail confirmed the matter to banglanews.
BNP Chairperson’s media wing spokesperson Shairul Kabir Khan hoped that Fakhrul would get release from the jail in the afternoon as all formalities have already completed in this regard.
On Monday the High Court granted a six-month bail to Mirza Fakhrul Islam in a case filed with Shahbagh Thana.
The case was filed after a person was killed in the capital’s Malibagh during a demonstration on November 30 last year.
On March 16, Fakhrul was sent to jail after he along with two other BNP leaders surrendered before a Dhaka court and sought bail in three murder cases.
