DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was released on bail from Kashimpur jail on Tuesday evening.
The BNP leader walked out from the jail around 7:20pm, said the jail authorities.
On Monday the High Court granted a six-month bail to Mirza Fakhrul Islam in a case filed with Shahbagh Thana.
The case was filed after a person was killed in the capital’s Malibagh during a demonstration on November 30, 2013.
On March 16, Fakhrul was sent to jail after he along with two other BNP leaders surrendered before a Dhaka court and sought bail in three murder cases.
