BRAHMANBARIA: The road communications on Dhaka-Chittagong and Dhaka-Sylhet routes halted from Monday noon after indefinite strike called by Brahmanbaria District Transport Owners Association.
The strike was enforced to press home their demands to stop plying of the locally-made shallow pump-run vehicles, known as Nasiman and Kariman, and other illegal three-wheelers on the roads.
After calling the strike, no bus left the district while no transport was allowed to leave the terminal.
The leaders of the organization said that innumerable auto-rickshaws were plying on the district highways which created road accidents.
The authority was requested for several times, but no fruitful result was seen in this connection. That’s why the organization called the strike.
