CHITTAGONG: Police arrested seven activists of banned Islamist outfit Hizb-ut Tahrir from Shahi Jame Masjid of Andarkilla area in the port city at Friday noon.
Mohiuddin Selim, Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Thana, said that the arrestees were identified as students of Chittagong University and some private university.
Police arrested them when they were supplying anti-state leaflets and publications after Jumma prayer, he added.
The group was banned from 2009 for connection with international militants.
