DHAKA: Former Jatiya Sangsad whip and BNP MP Mahbubul Alam Tara’s third Namaz-e-Janaza was held in front of BNP’s Nayapaltan central office of the capital on Wednesday morning.
He will be buried at his family graveyard at Farhad Nagar in Feni Sadar upazila on the day after his fourth and fifth Namaz-e-Janaza followed by at the South Plaza of Parliament and Feni.
Earlier, Tara’s first namaz-e-janaza was held at Gulshan Azad Mosque around 08:45pm on Tuesday and second was held in front of new head office building of NCC Bank at Motijheel around 9:00am Wednesday.
Tara died at the National University of Singapore on Monday at the age of 74.
The former MP was taken to Singapore on May 29 as he had long been suffering from lung cancer.
Tara was elected MP from Feni-3 constituency with BNP ticket in the fifth parliamentary election in 1991. He was also made a whip of parliament.
He joined Awami League in 2001 and contested the parliamentary election from the same constituency with AL ticket and got defeated. Later, Tara rejoined BNP.
