DHAKA: International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 ordered to produce M Forkan Mallik before the tribunal by July 3 in a case filed for his alleged crimes against humanity committed during the Liberation War 1971.

The 3-member tribunal led by Justice Obaidul Hasan passed the order to jail deputy inspector after the hearing on Monday.  

Prosecutor Satyaranjan Saha submitted the appeal to the tribunal.

On June 25, Patuakhali Detective Branch of police arrested Forkan from Rupatali Bus Stand area of Barisal following a warrant issued against him.

On July 21, 2009, one Abdul Hamid filed the case against Forkan, brining allegation of involvement in murder, rape and setting fire during the liberation war in 1971. 

Patuakhali Court issued the arrest warrant against Forkan. After transferring the case into ICT, Registrar AKM Nasir Uddin handed the case on June 25 to investigative agency.
