DHAKA: Parliamentary Standing Committee on Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Suranjit Sengupta on Wednesday said democracy doesn’t exist along with communal force of Jamaat-Shibir.
Indicating BNP Cairperson Khaleda Zia, he said “akistan-love’ should be boycotted to make relation with India."
Suranjit made the remarks while delivering speech as chief guest in a biannual seminar organized by ‘Janmastami Ujjapan Parishad’ at Gita Bhaban in city’s Tikatuli area.
He said the followers of Jamaat-e-Islami and its students wing Shibir repressed the minority people during January 5 national elections.
The ruling Awami League lawmaker said, “Khaleda should think about her party first. She is now a pessimist. This type of mental sickness is unwanted in politics.”
Debashis Palit, president of the organization, chaired the program attended by its general secretary Chandan Talukder, leaders Kajal Kanti Dutta, Gauranga Dey, Chittaranjan Das and Arun Sarkar Rana, among others.
