DHAKA: The Supreme Court on Sunday stayed the bail order of Feni BNP leader Mahatab Uddin Minar, the prime accused of Fulgazi chairman Ekramul Haque Ekram murder case, and asked to surrender within two weeks.
Justice Hasan Fayez Shiddique of the Appellate Division placed the order following the appeal of the state.
Barrister Rafiq-ul-Haque moved for Minar while attorney general Mahbub-e Alam stood for the state.
On May 27, DB police arrested Minar from Dhaka. He was a BNP-backed chairman candidate for Fulgazi upazila election.
On May 20, Ekramul Haque was shot and burnt to death by miscreants.
Three others, on the vehicle, were also critically burnt in the incident that took place in front of Bilash Cinema Hall in Feni’s Academy area.
