DHAKA: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Sunday handed over crests and financial donation to 10 freedom fighters for their invaluable contribution to the country during the liberation war in 1971.
She handed over the crests and cash money in a program, titled ‘The Needful Roles of Freedom Fighters to Overcome Enduring Political Crisis in Bangladesh’ organized by Muktijoddha Dal, at Institute of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) in the city.
Khaleda Zia reached at IDEB around 3:15pm. Earlier, acting secretary general of the party Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir inaugurated the program.
With Jatiyatabadi Muktojoddha Dal president Istiaque Aziz Ulfat in the chair, the function was addressed, among others, by publication and publishing affairs secretary of BNP Joynal Abedin Faruk, economics affairs secretary Abdus Salam and Jatiyatabadi Muktojoddha Dal general secretary Shafiuzzaman Khokon.
