GAZIPUR: BNP-led alliance called a dawn-to-dusk hatal in the district for Monday protesting the confinement of its chief Khaleda Zia to her Gulshan office and detention of senior BNP leaders.

BNP central committee organizing secretary AKM Fazlul Haque Milon, also Gazipur district BNP president, confirmed the matter to banglanews over cell phone at 9:58am Sunday.

When asked the enforcement of hartal after Ijtema would increase sufferings to devotees, he said they will return home Sunday after attending the Akheri Munajat. So hartal will not create any problem.
