DHAKA: New trucks with mud, bricks and sand have been kept in front of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda Zia’s political office in city’s Gulshan area.

Seven trucks were seen parked in the area at 12:45pm while the report was filed.

Five trucks are positioned in the southern part of the office (Road 90) while two trucks in the northern part (Road 86).

Drivers and helpers of the trucks told banglanews that they have come from different areas including Badda and Abdullahpur of the city.

Driver of a mud-laden truck Sajahan said he was going to city’s cantonment area from Abdullahpur. But, later changing the direction, he came in Gulshan.

He is instructed to stay here the whole day, he added.

Gulshan patrol inspector Amzad Hossian said to banglanews that he has brought the trucks following the orders of his higher officials.

He did not get any instruction regarding the duration of stay of the trucks, he added.

Earlier on January 3, BNP chief declared her party’s political programs from the office.

On the following day, law enforcers deployed additional members along with 13 mud and sand-laden trucks in the area.

Later in past three and four days, they removed the trucks from the area. But from Sunday (January 11), they started keeping the trucks again.

However, Khaleda Zia has been staying at the office since January 3.
