91 BNP men sued in Dhamrai

DHAKA: Police filed a case with Dhamrai Thana against 91 leaders and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in charge of torching vehicles in the area.

Among the accused Dhamrai Upazila Parishad chairman Tamiz Uddin and general secretary of Chhatra Dal central committee Yeasin Ferdous Murad are notable.

However, police have already arrested three BNP men in this connection following the case filed on Monday night.

Police sources said that the leaders and activists of BNP’s Dhamrai upazila unit created violence and torched a passenger bus on Dhaka-Aricha highway in upazila’s Sutipara area on January 10.

Dhamrai Thana Officer-in-Charge Firoz Talukder confirmed the matter to banglanews.
