A meeting of AL’s executive committee unanimously decided that the party would hold no dialogue with BNP.

The leaders collectively ruled out any possibility to sit with their political rival BNP for dialogue, according to the meeting sources.

At the meeting, the premier said government will face the prevailing situations with iron hand. But it is high time to resist the violence together politically. AL needs to become stronger organizationally, she added.

The meeting sources added that AL law affairs secretary Abdul Matin Khasru demanded the arrest of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on charge of instigating sabotages.

The premier then asked Khasru, who is also a lawyer, to look into the related laws and acts so that legal actions can be taken against Khaleda Zia.

The meeting gave emphasis on committee formation at the party’s grassroot level soon. Besides, new committees will be formed dividing the existing Dhaka city unit of the party into two new units –Dhaka South and Dhaka North, an attendee of the meeting disclosed.

The premier also directed the party leaders to complete conventions of all units as soon as possible.
