DHAKA: Barbed wires and a large refrigerator were brought at the political office of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Saturday night.

The barbed wires were brought around 6:00pm while the refrigerator was brought around 9:00pm at her Gulshan office in the city.

Confirming the matter to banglanews Khaleda Zia’s Media Wing Officer Shamsuddin Didar told that the barbed wires were brought to the office to put a fence on the wall around the office of BNP Chief.

On the other hand, the refrigerator company, HITACHI, manager Rokon Uddin said that an official of the office, Amin, ordered the product so that they are delivering it.

The price of the refrigerator is Tk 48,000, sources said.

However, the police carried out a thorough search of the refrigerator for security reason and then it was entered inside the office.

The details of the refrigerator were registered on a notebook by the law enforcers at the entrance of Khaleda’s political office.

BNP sources said that the party chief Khaleda Zia is confined at her political office in Gulshan from January 3.

On the other hand, the government and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said that Khaleda Zia has not been confined in her office and explained the police presence there as a 'security measure'.
