DHAKA: At least five students were injured in several cocktails blast in Central Shaheed Minar and Teacher-Student Center (TSC) areas on Dhaka University (DU) campus Sunday evening.

The injured are Imdadul Haque Imon, 22, DU student of History Department; Sabjia Sampa, 20, student of Library and Information Science of the same university; Sabuj, a masters student of economics in Dhaka College and Alfa Robi, 24, student of Geography Department in Jagannath University.

However, name of another injured DU student could not be known immediately.

Sources said a group of miscreants hurled some cocktails at Central Shaheed Minar premises at 6:45pm that left four students injured.

Moreover, the miscreants blasted three cocktails at TSC intersection at 6:30pm that left one injured, the sources added.

The students, who sustained cocktail injuries, were taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

DU police camp In-Charge Sentu Chandra Dash confirmed the blast to banglanews.
