NOAKHALI: Miscreants slaughtered a member of local Awami League (AL) in Charmatua Union No 2 Ward under Sadar upazila of the district early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Babul, 55, upazila AL member and also Member of Charmatua Union No. 2 Ward.

Charmatua Union Parishad chairman Kamal Uddin Bablu, also Union AL general secretary, confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said locals spotted the slaughtered body of Babul lying by the roadside at the union in this morning and informed the chairman.

Officer-in-charge (OC) Anwar Hossain of Sudharam Thana told banglanews that on information, a police team was sent to the spot.
