HABIGANJ: Three people, including a woman and her daughter, sustained burn injuries when miscreants hurled petrol bombs at a passenger train near Shajibazar Rail Station under Madhabpur upazila of the district Saturday night.

The injured were identified as Maya Begum, 45, wife of Kesli Miah, and her daughter Amena Begum, 22, of Eralia village of Sadar upazila of the district and Madhab Rodra, 30, of Harashpur village of Madhabpur upazila.

Shaistaganj Rail Station master Jahangir Alam told banglanews that some miscreants hurled petrol bombs at the Sylhet-bound Paharika train coming from Chittagong when the train entered Shajibazar Rail Station, leaving three people injured.

On information, a team of police led by Shayestaganj Thana Sub-Inspector (SI) Mobarak Hossain rescued the injured and took them to the Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital.
