DINAJPUR: Locals caught an activist of Islami Chhatra Shibir red handed when he tried to set fire to an Awami League office in Fazilrpur under Sadar upazila on Monday night.

Witnesses said locals nabbed the Shibir cadre while he was trying to hurl petrol bomb in a bid to torch the office of Fazilpur AL union unit around 11:00am and handed him over to police.

Details of the Shibir man could not be known.

Kotwali Thana Officer-In-Charge (IC) Khalequzzaman confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Identity of the Shibir man was not disclosed primarily for the sake of the investigation, the OC said.
