DHAKA: Hearing of the petition for withdrawal of arrest warrant against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia will be held on Wednesday.

Special Judge Abu Ahmed Jamadar of makeshift court setup on Dhaka Alia Madrasa premises in city’s Bakshibazar area passed the order on Tuesday noon.

Earlier on the day, BNP chairperson filed the petition seeking the withdrawal of the arrest warrant issued against her in Zia Orphanage and Zia Trust graft cases.

Khaleda Zia’s lawyer Advocate Sanaullah Mia filed the petition with the Bakshibazar make-shift court in city.

On February 25, the court issued the arrest warrant against three persons including, the BNP chief and vice-chairman Tarique Rahman, also son of Khaleda Zia, as they were absent in the hearing of the two cases for a long period.
