DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Police detained 10 leaders and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Islami Chhatra Shibir across the city on charge of carrying out sabotages amid BNP-led 20-party alliance sponsored hartal and blockade.

Of the detainees, 10 are BNP men and the rest one is activist of Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami.

Police rounded up them in separate drives conducted during the last twenty four hours till 8:30am on Wednesday.

DMP deputy commissioner (media and public relations) Masudur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
