DHAKA: A vendor was hurt as miscreants blasted a cocktail near Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) on Dhaka University campus on Saturday evening.

Witnesses said that the miscreants riding on a motorcycle made the blast at 7:10pm and fled the spot immediately.

The blast destroyed a roadside ‘fuchka’ shop in the area, they added.

However, police rushed to spot and nabbed one on suspicion.

Shahbagh Thana sub-inspector (SI) Mahbubur Rahman said that a vendor was injured in the blast and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Moreover, two cocktails were blasted at Dainik Bangla intersection in the city at 7:55pm on the day.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Paltan Thana officer-in-charge Morshed Alam said that police personnel rushed to the spot after listening to the sound of the blast.

No body was injured in the incident, he added saying that they are conducting drives to hold the criminals.
