7 cocktails blasted in city, 2 injured

DHAKA: Two pedestrians were injured as miscreants blasted two cocktails in front of Raju Bhaskarja in Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) on Dhaka University campus in city on Monday evening.

The victims were identified as housewife Rehana (30) and a Daffodil University student Sabiar Hossain Sabbir (21).

They took treatment from Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

Rehana’s husband Rafi told banglanews that the victim received splinter injuries as were having ice cream near TSC intersection during the blast.

Another injured Sabbir said he also sustained splinter injuries.

Moreover, five cocktails were blasted consecutively in front of Padma Cinema Hall in city’s Malibagh area around 7:00pm on Monday.

Sources said that the blasts created panic among the pedestrians.

No one was injured in the incident, they added.

Police reached the place immediately after the blasts. They are conducting a search-drive in the area but nobody is reportedly detained in the incident.
