9 BNP-Jamaat men held for ‘sabotage’

CHITTAGONG: Police detained nine leaders-activists of BNP and its key ally Jamaat-e-Islami from different Thanas of the district for their alleged link in sabotages.

During the overnight drive, the law enforcers rounded up three each from BNP, Jamaat and its student wing Chhatra Shibir from Sitakunda, Satkania and Lohagara, said Mohammd Naimul Hasan, additional superintendent of police.

Police has been conducting drives across the district to nab suspected anarchists in a bid to avert subversive activities during indefinite blockade called by BNP-Jamaat alliance.
