NARAIL: Police, in several drives, detained 52 people including a BNP leader from different upazilas of the district till Sunday morning.

District Superintendent of Police (SP) Rakibul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Narail police control room sources said the law enforcers’ detained 17 men from Sadar, 15 from Lohagara, 10 from Kalia and 10 from Noragati upazilas.

Among the detainees, Kashipur union Ward no-8 BNP unit general secretary M Ali Miah, 45, were detained.

Police conducted the drives from Saturday night to 8:00am Sunday.
