DHAKA: Ruling Awami League-backed mayoral post aspirant Syed Khokon submitted his nomination papers for Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on Sunday.

After submission of nomination form to regional returning officer Mir Sarwar Ali Morshed at 12:30pm, he said, “With bless of the Almighty, I’m cent percent hopeful about winning the DSCC mayoral post.”

Dhaka metropolitan Awami League acting president MA Aziz, former food minister Dr Abdur Razzak, MP Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh accompanied him during the nomination form submission.

Earlier on March 18, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad announced the election schedule for three city corporations.

Voting at Dhaka’s two city corporations and Chittagong City Corporation are scheduled to be held on April 28 while the last date of nomination paper submission is March 29.
