DHAKA: Pro-BNP fugitive mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation  (RCC) Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul has been suspended for bring accused in several criminal cases including sabotage and arms and explosives.

Local Government Ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard on Thursday evening.

The copy of notification, signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Jasim Uddin, was sent to authorities concerned.

The City Corporation Act consists a provision of suspending mayor or councilor for being accused in criminal cases.

Several cases were filed against Bulbul after January 5 national election bringing allegations of sabotage, violence, damaging public property and possessing arms and explosives illegally.
