DHAKA: State Minister for Home Affairs of India Kiren Rijiju on Saturday categorically said the trial of BNP joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed will be held under illegal immigration act.
Kiren Rijiju made the observations while addressing the 2-day sixth ‘Bangladesh-India Friendship Dialogue’ that started in New Delhi on Friday.
Sources from the conference confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Rijiju further said there was no chance for doing politics over the matter.
Bangladesh State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam presented keynote paper in the dialogue chaired by Transport Minister of India Nitin Gadkari.
Bangladesh High Commissioner to Delhi Syed Moazzem Ali and Rail Minister of India Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu also participated in the conference.
Earlier on Friday, Shahriar Alam with a delegation comprising economist Dr Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, water resource specialist Dr Ainul Nishat, former ambassador Muhammad Zamir, Prof Syed Manzoorul Islam, Abdul Wadud Dara MP, Pankaj Debnath and BFUJ president Majurul Ahsan Bulbul left the country to attend the dialogue.
