DHAKA: A Dhaka court fixed June 20 to deliver order on whether the three charge sheets submitted against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and 37 others in two cases would be taken into cognizance.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shamsul Arefin passed the order after placing the charge sheets before the court on Thursday.
The court also will review documents on the day regarding the charge sheets.
Two separate cases were filed with Jatrabari Thana against Khaleda Zia and others for allegedly killing two people hurling petrol bomb in a bus in the area.
Sub-Inspector of Detective Branch (DB) of Police Bashir Ahmed, also Investigation Officer of a case, submitted two charge sheets with Murder and Explosive Act on May 5.
Later on May 19, Sub-inspector (SI) Jahidul Islam and also investigating officer of another case submitted a charge sheet in the case field under Special Power Act.
The BNP chairperson was made the main accused of the case.
The accused include-- BNP standing Committee member MK Anwar, Joint secretary-generals Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Barkat Ullah Bulu, Aman Ullah Aman, Khaleda Zia’s adviser Advocate Khandaker Mahbub Hossain and others.
Earlier on January 23, at least 20 passengers sustained burn injuries as some miscreants hurled petrol bomb at a bus in Jatrabari area in the city.
