MAGURA: The Election Commission (EC) has completed all preparations to conduct the by-election of Magura-1 constituency will be held on Saturday.

The voting will start from 8:00am and continue till 4:00pm without interruption.

Magura district election officer and assistant returning officer of the by-election M Ahmed Ali told banglanews that around 2,200 members of police, 400 members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), 200 members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and huge Ansar members have been deployed in the constituency to avert any unwanted situation.

Moreover, four mobile courts and two judicial courts led by executive magistrate will be there during the election.

For the first time, the information of the vote casting from every center will be sent to the district election office per hour to stop fake votes.

However, among the 140 voting centers, 105 centers have been declared risky.

There are 3,24,055 voters in the constituency where four candidates are competing.

The seat of the constituency became vacant as MP MS Akber died on March 9.
