Salahuddin charged for intrusion Salahuddin Ahmed

DHAKA: BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmed has been charged in intrusion case with Shillong police in India state of Meghalaya state on Wednesday.

Media reports said that investigators have submitted charge-sheet with Chief Judicial Magistrate KML Nongbri this afternoon.

Earlier, the case was filed under the Foreigners Act of India. It may lead Salahuddin to imprisonment or pushback.

The BNP leader is expected to be produced before the court again on June 10.

According to the reports, police brought charges against the BNP leader only for entering India without valid travel documents.

However, Salahuddin was allegedly picked up by detectives from a house in Dhaka's Uttara on March 10.

Later on May 11, he was found in Meghalaya state capital Shillong.
