DHAKA: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson MJ Akbar remarked that connectivity between Bangladesh and North-Eastern parts of India will bring economic renaissance.

The spokesperson of BJP came up with this assertion while speaking at a roundtable in city’s National Press Club on Friday.

MJ Akbar quoted Narendra Modi’s pre-election remark as saying “The people of North-Eastern states of India are very poor. But this is not fair that in a country some people will be rich and some are poor.”

An economic renaissance will create in both the countries if those states connect with one another via Bangladesh.
