CHITTAGONG: Police, in overnight drives, detained 94 people including five activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir from different areas of the district on Friday.

The law enforcers also recovered four cocktails and 1,900 pieces of Yaba tablets during the drives.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) in Chittagong Mohammad Naimul Hasan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said that of the detainees, eight persons were accused in regular cases while 81 others were warranted.

Lawpersons also held an activist of Jamaat and four activists of Shibir during the special drive. They are accused in sabotage cases, Naimul Hasan added.
