DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has been admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in city on Saturday.

The BNP leader was brought there from Kashimpur jail at noon.

BNP chairperson’s press wing official Shayrul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

However, Mirza Fakhrul was arrested from National Press Club premises in city on January 6 during the nationwide blockade sponsored by BNP-led 20-party alliance.

The Supreme Court recently passed an order to admit the BNP leader to BSMMU for better treatment as he fell sick in prison.
