DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Sunday appealed for bail in three violence cases filed with Paltan Thana in city.

The appeal was placed to the High Court bench of Justice Mohammad Rezaul Haque and Justice Mohammad Khasruzzaman.

Lawyers Joynul Abedin and Sagar Hossain will move for the plea.

Sagar Hossain said the BNP leader was not shown arrested in the three cases. Later, police had shown him arrested and filed a remand petition.

He further said following the appeal, the court allowed police to question Fakhrul at jail gate.

Later, the judicial court denied bail for the BNP leader in the cases.

However, Paltan Thana filed three cases against Fakhrul for creating violence during BNP-led alliance sponsored nationwide hartal and blockade.
