DHAKA: Jamaat-e-Islami observed a dawn to dusk hartal across the country for Wednesday.

No picketing or unexpected incident was reported during the hartal.

Earlier on Tuesday, Jamaat called the nationwide shutdown protesting the Supreme Court (SC) verdict that upheld the death sentence to its secretary general Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojahid for his crimes against humanity during the country’s war of independence in 1971.

A four-member bench of the SC Appellate Division led by Chief Justice SK Sinha delivered the verdict around 9:00am.

Ambulance, freezer van, vehicles of hospital, fire service was remain out of hartal purview.
