DHAKA: Police, in separate drives, detained at least 209 people, including some BNP-Jamaat activists, from nine district of the county in 24 hours till Wednesday afternoon.

The members of law enforcing agencies conducted the different drives from Tuesday 5:00pm to Wednesday 5:00pm and detained them.

A total of 90 people held from Jessore, 10 from Chandpur, 54 from Satkhira, five from Laxmipur, three from Gopalganj, eight from Gazipur, eight from Thakurgaon, eight from Jhenaidah and 23 held from Khulna districts.

Respective thanas confirmed the matter to banglanews.
