DHAKA: Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) approved the charge sheet against former MP and also BNP leader Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie on allegation of amassing wealth illegally.

Deputy Director of ACC Public Relations Department Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed the matter to banglanews on Thursday.

He said the anti graft watchdog okayed the charge-sheet as they found evidences of accumulating wealth beyond known income sources.

ACC sources said there is an allegation against Annie that he concealed the information of wealth worth of Tk 13.14 lakh as well as attained illegal wealth worth of Tk 1.40 crore.

ACC deputy director Mahbub Alam has been investigating the matter and an ACC officer will submit the charge sheet before the court.

Earlier on October 9 in 2014, ACC deputy director Manjur Morshed filed a case with Ramna Thana in this connection.
