DHAKA: Appellate Division on Sunday will deliver its order on the plea of staying the bail of BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in three violence cases.
A four-member bench, led by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha fixed the date after the hearing of both sides on Thursday.
Attorney General Mahbube Alam stood for the state while Khandker Mahbub Hossain for the defender.
Senior lawyers Barrister Rafuqul Haque and Barrister Moudud Ahmed were also present during the hearing.
Earlier on June 18, the High Court granted bail of Mirza Fakhrul in the three cases. Later, government appealed for the stay of the bail order.
However, the cases were filed with Paltan Thana and Motijheel Thana against the BNP leader in accusation of creating violence.
