12 militants on 3-day remand

DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Friday placed the 12 militants, including the Bangladeshi Chief coordinator of Al Qaeda (ex Huji leader) Mufti Mainul Islam and Advisor Maolana Zafor Amin, on three-day remand each.

Metropolitan magistrate Saiful Islam Molla passed the order after the IO (investigation officer) of the case Sub-Inspector (SI) of Darus Salam Thana Jalaluddin produced them before the court with the plea of seven-day remand each.

On July 1, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) apprehended the Bangladeshi Chief coordinator of Al Qaeda (ex Huji leader) Mufti Mainul Islam and Advisor Maolana Zafor Amin along with 10 militants from various areas of the city.

RAB has also recovered huge amount of explosives, bomb making materials, various types of knives, many training & Jihadi books from them.
