BNP demands int’l investigation over violence

DHAKA: BNP demanded an international investigation under the United Nation on the violence created during the BNP-led 20-party alliance called nationwide hartal and blockade.

Moreover, the removal of LGRD minister Syed Ashraful Islam should be made clear to the nation.

BNP spokesperson Dr Asaduzzaman Ripon made the demands at a press conference at the party headquarters in city’s Nayapaltan area on Saturday noon.

Ripon expressed this reaction as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said earlier at the Parliament that ‘BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia will be tried in a special tribunal’.

He said that BNP chief did not order for creating violence and even no party leader is involved in violence.

Moreover, the BNP spokesperson demanded the government to explain the reasons behind the removal of LGRD minister Syed Ashraful Islam from the post.
