Jamaat leader sent to jail in Joypurhat

JOYPURHAT: A district court on Wednesday sent former secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Mostafizur Rahman, also Panchbibi Upazila chairman, to jail in a sabotage case.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Abdullah Al Amin Bhuiyan passed the order around 1:00pm.

Public Prosecutor (PP) Advocate Nripendranath Mandal told banglanews the Jamaat leader was on a four-week interim bail.

PP further said, “He appeared before the court and plead for a bail as the date of interim bail was over. So, the court sent him jail”.
