JESSORE: A district court on Wednesday sent five district BNP leaders including town unit president Maruful Islam, also mayor of Jessore Municipality, in several sabotage and explosives cases.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Abu Ibrahim sent them to jail after their surrender before the court with bail pleas.

The BNP leaders were town unit president Maruful Islam, district BNP vice-president Golam Reza Dulu, joint secretary Mizanur Rahman Khan, organizing secretary Delwar Hossain Khokon and BNP standing committee member Tariqul Islam’s son Anindya Islam Amit and also a member of district BNP.

Jessore court police inspector Rezaul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

There are seven cases against Maruful Islam and Golam Reza Dulu, five against Delwar Hossain Khokon and Anindya Islam Amit, and two against Mizanur Rahman Khan, he added.
