SYLHET: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will return home on October 3 after attending the 70th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

She will have a stopover at MAG Osmani International Airport in Sylhet en route to Dhaka.

Local Awami League leaders will meet with her here during the break of journey.

Party sources told banglanews that the premier will be accorded reception for achieving the highest award by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) ‘Champions of the Earth’.

Metropolitan AL president Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran told banglanews that they will talk to Special Security Force (SSF) members, law enforcement agency that provides physical protection to the Very Very Important Persons (VVIP) of the country and visiting, about arranging any program.

Sheikh Hasina left the country on September 23. On September 27, she received the ‘Champions of the Earth’ award from UNEP executive director Achim Steiner.
